The Brew Project
The Brew Project offers confidential, non-judgemental one-to-one support for children and young people aged 5 to 17. Sessions can take place face to face or by video call.
It is called the Brew Project because that is what it is meant to be, the chance to have a virtual cup of tea with someone outside the young person’s family and friendship circles. Well-being advisers are there to listen, support and help children and young people find solutions to the problems, concerns and issues they face.
Invictus works with local mental health partners to help young people find suitable support. For referral criteria and current availability, visit the BREW project page. Waiting times can change; contact Invictus directly about accessing its services.

Try High and Thrive holiday clubs
Try High in Calderdale and Thrive in Bradford are school holiday clubs, mainly for children aged 7 to 11 who receive free school meals.
For more information or to book, visit Try High for Calderdale or Thrive for Bradford.
COPE bereavement support groups
COPE is Invictus Wellbeing’s bereavement support programme. It has helped young people who have lost a loved one to understand, process and cope with their bereavement. Invictus reports that the project has no current funding; check its programme page for updates. Previous groups were structured as follows:
- Ages 12 to 17
- Sessions of an hour and a half, weekly, over six to eight weeks
- Six students per group, with two therapeutic practitioners
- Schools provide the space

Transition support service, ages 16 to 25
Invictus Wellbeing is commissioned to deliver the Open Minds Transition Support Service: wraparound mental health and well-being support for young people, at a lower intensity and less formal level than clinical care.
Each young person is assigned a well-being practitioner or a therapeutic practitioner, depending on their needs, who supports them on the journey from adolescence into early adulthood. The support is built to improve mental health and well-being, resilience and daily coping skills, and reflects what young people said they wanted: person-centred counselling, therapeutically informed support, welfare check-ins, peer support groups, workshops, sport and creative activities, volunteering and social action, and social prescribing and active signposting.

The Invictus drop-in
Invictus has offered peer support groups where young people use their own experiences to help one another in a friendly, non-judgemental and confidential setting. Check with Invictus for current sessions and venues.
Invictus has also offered projects involving liaison and diversion, youth leaders, rock climbing, and boxing and fitness. Its website provides information about its work and ways to get involved.
