Emergency dental care
Assessment for dental pain, swelling, damage or another urgent concern during practice hours.

Could this treatment help you?
Severe toothache, a swelling, a knocked or broken tooth, bleeding that will not stop — dental emergencies are assessed the same day wherever possible, with the priority on getting you out of pain and the tooth made safe.
Pearl Dental provides private emergency care. Call the practice as early in the day as you can on 01274 880178.
This may suit you if

Pain that keeps you awake, a swelling in the face or gum, a tooth broken or knocked out, or a lost filling or crown that has left the tooth sharp or sensitive.
What it will not do

The emergency visit deals with the urgent problem — pain, infection, protection of the tooth. Definitive treatment, like a permanent crown or root canal, is often completed at a planned follow-up, with its options and costs explained before you leave.
A facial swelling that is spreading, or any difficulty swallowing or breathing, is beyond a dental surgery — that needs emergency hospital care.

Afterwards
Follow the specific advice you are given — antibiotics only ever support treatment of the cause, not replace it. Keep the follow-up appointment even when the pain has gone: pain going quiet is not the same as the problem being fixed.
Questions patients usually ask.
Can I be seen today?
Wherever possible, yes — same-day slots are prioritised for genuine emergencies. Calling early in the day gives the best chance.
I am not registered with you — can you still see me?
Call the practice and explain the problem; reception will tell you what is available that day for new patients — no registration needed for private emergency care.
What should I do with a knocked-out adult tooth?
Handle it by the crown, not the root. If you can, place it back in the socket and bite gently on a clean cloth; otherwise keep it in milk and get to the practice immediately — time matters more than anything else.
