CBCT scanning
Three-dimensional dental imaging provided where clinically justified, including referral access for other practices.

Could this treatment help you?
A CBCT scan is a three-dimensional x-ray of the jaws — where an ordinary x-ray flattens everything into one image, CBCT shows bone height, width and the exact position of nerves and sinuses. It is what turns implant placement from estimation into planning.
Pearl Dental has its own CBCT scanner on site, used for implant planning and complex diagnosis — and available to other practices, who refer patients here for scans.
This may suit you if

Anyone planning implant treatment, complex extractions near nerves, or diagnosis that flat x-rays cannot settle. If your own dentist has asked for a CBCT scan, the practice takes referrals.
What it will not do

CBCT uses a higher dose than a standard dental x-ray, so it is used where the 3D information genuinely changes the plan — a clinical justification, not a default. Every scan is reported and the findings explained.
- On-site — no hospital referral for implant planning
- 3D imaging of bone, nerves and sinuses
- Referral scans for other practices
- Step 1JustificationThe scan is taken only where 3D information changes the plan.
- Step 2The scanSeconds long, painless — you stand still while the scanner rotates.
- Step 3ReportingThe images are reviewed and the findings explained to you.
- Step 4PlanningTreatment — or your referring dentist — proceeds on real anatomy.
Afterwards
None needed — the scan is painless and takes seconds. Referred patients have images and findings returned to their own dentist.
Questions patients usually ask.
Is a CBCT scan safe?
The dose is higher than a flat dental x-ray but low in absolute terms, and every scan is clinically justified before it is taken — 3D imaging is used where it changes the plan, not routinely.
My dentist referred me for a scan — what happens?
You attend for the scan, which takes minutes, and the images and report go back to your referring dentist to continue your treatment.
