ICON resin infiltration
A minimally invasive resin-infiltration option considered for selected enamel marks or early lesions.

Could this treatment help you?
White spots on enamel — left over from braces, early decay or developmental marks — sit under the surface where whitening cannot reach them. ICON resin infiltration treats them without drilling: the spot is opened microscopically, and a resin infiltrates it so it blends with the enamel around it.
It is one of the most conservative cosmetic treatments in dentistry — no injection, no drilling, and usually a single visit.
This may suit you if
Chalky white marks after brace treatment, mild fluorosis, or early decay marks a dentist has said to watch. The assessment confirms the mark is the kind that infiltration treats.
What it will not do
Not every mark responds — deeper or brown discolouration may need bonding or other treatment instead, and you are told which yours is at the assessment. The result is immediate but, as with natural enamel, the tooth still needs normal care.
- No drilling, usually no anaesthetic
- Often completed in one visit
- Blends the mark with the surrounding enamel
- Step 1AssessmentThe mark is examined to confirm infiltration will work on it.
- Step 2PreparationThe tooth is isolated and the spot surface prepared.
- Step 3InfiltrationThe resin infiltrates the spot and is set with light.
- Step 4PolishThe surface is polished to match the enamel around it.
Afterwards
Nothing to recover from — normal eating, drinking and brushing straight after. The treated area is checked at routine visits like any other enamel.
Questions patients usually ask.
Will the white spot disappear completely?
Suitable spots typically blend so they no longer catch the eye; the assessment tells you honestly how much yours should improve before you commit.
How much does ICON treatment cost?
Priced per tooth and confirmed in writing at the assessment.
