Inman Aligner
What is an Inman aligner?
The Inman aligner is a removable brace which works using a coil spring applying pressure to the back of the teeth which are to be aligned and a clear bar at the front reversing the same pressure to move the teeth.
The relatively invisible braces work by only concentrating on the front 6 to 8 teeth allowing correction of mild to moderate problems. The braces work very quickly usually in under 24 weeks, making it a non-destructive and affordable way to have straighter teeth.

What is the procedure?
Initial assessment to check suitability – 20 minutes
Impressions of the upper and lower arch, and pre-treatment photographs – 20 minutes
Fitting of the braces two weeks after impression appointment – 30minutes per arch
4 weeks later adjustment appointment and review of progress. This is repeated on average every 4 weeks – 20min
Once treatment is complete the Inman is just worn at night as a retainer

How long does it take to achieve straighter teeth?
Treatment can be achieved in as little as 8 to 16 weeks.
Does it hurt?
Patients may find they need to take mild painkillers for the first week or so. Like anything foreign to your mouth, it may cause you to salivate more than usual for 24 to 48 hours and could affect your speech for 7 to 10 days.
Is the Inman Aligner new ?
Patients have been treated with Inman Aligners since 2000. In the United States approximately 450 to 500 new patients are prescribed treatment with Inman Aligners every month.
Will the Inman Aligner affect my speech?
Yes. The Inman Aligner will affect your speech for a week or two. You will however get use to the appliance over time and be able to speak fine with them in place.
Will I need to see the dentist frequently for adjustments?
During your treatment with the inman aligner you will be require to attend the practice every 4 weeks for the dentist to review how the teeth are adjusting and to check for any issues. Pearl dental offers evening and weekend appointments for private treatments to make is easier for patients to attend.
